What Buy Right Does

The purpose of Buy Right Purchasing Group is to act as a purchasing agent for independent restaurants.  Through development of strong contracts with vendors, Buy Right obtains national account pricing for its members based on the cooperative purchasing power of the group.

Buy Right performs three main functions for its members:

1 - We negotiate agreements with vendors and service providers at set margins, mark-ups or prices, allowing members to enjoy savings that are locked in for a term of one to five years (contract terms vary among vendors).

2 - We audit those agreements to ensure that the terms of the agreements are actually met.  Twice a year we select 100-150 items from invoices and confirm that margins, mark-ups or prices are accurate.  We may also audit any items at any time at a member's request.

3 - We negotiate allowance or rebate programs with manufacturers.  Then, on a quarterly basis, we collect those rebate dollars based on the group's purchases and distribute them back to the clients.  Most of the rebates we earn would not be offered to an individual restaurant owner or even a local restaurant chain because their volume is just not enough.  However, with Buy Right, even the smallest of independently owned restaurants get to
enjoy the same benefits of national chains.

The benefits that Buy Right members enjoy include lower prices on all their food and supplies; less hassle dealing with multiple sales representatives; confidence in the fact that they are not paying too much for inventory; time each week to dedicate to the success of their restaurant and/or community instead of searching for the "best deals"; and the peace
of mind in having a partner who will assist them in both saving money and getting the best
in service from their purveyors.
